Several Unique Business Card Designs

Have you already had a particularly extensive experience with the corporate world? You might have already gotten your hands on a number of different business cards from various companies and people.

In fact, you may have even acquired your own through commercial printing by a commercial printing company. One important consideration to effective materials is the design employed in creating them and ironically, many cards suffer because of this factor. Here are some unique and cool designs, which you may want to apply in future batches so that you will be able to utilize them to their fullest.

1. Informal - Do not even think of attempting this if your field of work is just a bit intolerant of "unprofessional" behaviours. Not that having an informal design-different shape, informal language, odd use of colors-means that you are an unprofessional person, but certain companies and clients can think along these lines and immediately discount you as a possible business partner. For less strict professions, however, such as creative writing for one, feel free to use an informal design. They may be rare, but there are cases when informal designs are actually favoured over rigid and by-the-book designs.

2. Minimalist - Here we have another tried and tested design practice. The minimalist approach is particularly effective in attention catching because with so little elements in the business card to notice, clients have a particularly easy time in latching onto the important details and portions.

How to Create a Small Business Budget

If you run a small business, it is important to create a small business budget to help control and manage your finances. Not only will this save you time but it will also help you to save money by being more aware of income and expenditure, and exactly how that expenditure is being deployed.

A very important aspect of any business, whether a large multinational corporation or a one-person home business, is to keep tabs of where money is being spent and be aware of why such expenditure was necessary. It is not as difficult a thing to do as many people believe, particularly if you choose the right tools to help you, and the cost involved in acquiring it will be saved many times over through good financial management. In saying that, there are many excellent free financial packages available that will help you with creating your budget.

The first step to setting up any budget is to open a spreadsheet. Although you could use a simple Excel spreadsheet, it is better to use a good accountancy software application such as Intuit's Quicken or QuickBooks Pro Financial Software although you can also use any of the free Microsoft budget templates offered such as the Start-up Expenses Worksheet or Marketing Budget Plan templates.

When you are formulating a business budget, be sure to make allowances for unexpected expenditure. If you fail to do that, it is possible that you will be caught out, and once your budget goes off track you may find it difficult to get it back again. Always include some flexibility in any budget you create.

New Business Ideas For 2012

New Business Ideas For 2012Leverage and gaining the upper hand before anyone else is what most new successful businesses start off doing. A lot of people out there choose a New Year's resolution as something to stop such as smoking or drinking and others choose to lose weight. Why not start your new year by starting and gaining with a new business. Below I will list a few of the trending new business ideas for 2012.

Affiliate Marketing Online
This is and will be a popular idea for years to come because of the ability to do it from home and on your own time. Affiliate marketing is where you associate yourself with a company, product or idea and advertise for them allowing you to make commissions off of sales or clicks to their website(s). Some companies offer free training, website set-up, marketing strategies and marketing tools to aid you in your business. Not all of the tools are usually free but most of them are very resourceful. Another reason for starting a business like this is because you get residual income. Do the work once (write an advertising article) and get paid over and over for it (consistent flow of customers). Of course you can't just create one blog or article and expect it to carry you through all of your finances. You need to get it to grow which requires some time and effort but trust me when I tell you that it will all pay off if done consistently and thoroughly.
